The question of what size photograph is needed for a canvas print gets asked all the time. And the answer to this is, erm… Well its not that easy im afraid.
Unfortunately there are many different variables involved when transferring a photograph onto canvas . A while back i would have said that you need a high megapixel camera but nowadays a photograph from a mobile phone can look amazing on a 40 x 20 inch canvas.

The fact is that you can take a really bad picture using the latest megapixel camera and get really good photos from 6 year old digital cameras. A simple rule of thumb is that when you download the picture to your PC take a look at the size of it by right clicking it with the mouse and selecting properties. The bigger the size in pixels (eg 2000 x 1000) and the bigger the size (ie 500k – 2meg or bigger) the better. Any picture that is over 500k should be fine for printing though.
If you still arent sure then just send me an email and i can advise wether it will look good printed on canvas and what kind of size might be best.
